Walt

Sophie had her "Famous Person" report for second grade this year. There were lots of different people chosen by her classmates, but Sophie was convinced she wanted to do Walt Disney. It might have been because she loves Disneyland. Or it could've been because her brother Keaton did Walt when he was in second grade. Either way, she was steadfast in her decision despite the fact that you get extra credit for dressing up like your famous person--even if it was a BOY. This announcement changed the minds of the girls in her class, but Sophie didn't care--she was doing Walt--no matter WHAT!
And instead of a poster, we opted to do a 'suitcase report'. This is when you put a number of items in your suitcase which represent something you are telling about the person. You pull them out one by one to illustrate your point. What can I say--I'm a visual person. So with her suitcoat, pencil thin mustache and toothless grin, Sophie told her class all about Walt Disney. She did a great job and the children remembered so much of her report because of all the things she pulled out of the suitcase. Way to go Walt!
