104

We live in the Pacific Nortwest for many reasons. One of them being--we love the weather here. Not too hot, not too cold. So when the Meterologist says that it is going to be over 100 degrees, well, we better find someplace to cool off.
A new find for us is a place along the Columbia River called Cottonwood Beach. After 6 years of living here, a friend introduced me to this place last year. So, we've frequented it quite a bit this summer. And at any given moment, you can find enough families there to call it a Ward Activity. Sophie could spend all day just digging in the sand and making all sorts of moats.

Keaton and his friends enjoy the water and giving me a heart attack by seeing how far they can float away without me reeling them in again.

McKay likes to dig in the sand and play in the water. On this trip he combined the two and found many small clams (alive!) that both he and Keaton dug up. Too bad no one eats them here. Ick.

And Scott came over late after work. A bit of visiting with friends and then straight into the water!

And of course what girl wouldn't love to sunbathe on a raft. That is if her sunblock wasn't on a half of an inch thick. Sorry Soph.

Forget the laundry, the dishes, and the mess.....what else are you going to do when it's 104?
